Samantha Henderson is the Director of the Review and Compliance Division within the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. The Department of Historic Resources is Virginia’s State Historic Preservation Office within the Secretariat of Natural and Historic Resources, supporting historic preservation and archaeology throughout the Commonwealth. At DHR, Samantha oversees the review of Federal and State projects for potential impacts to Virginia’s historic resources. DHR’s Review and Compliance Division reviews approximately 3000 projects a year, including many broadband projects that receive Federal or State funding or require Federal authorizations to construct. Samantha trained as an archaeologist and has over 10 years of experience in historic preservation compliance review.
